I’m Laura Kyrke-Smith and I’m your Member of parliament for Aylesbury & the villages

Laura Kyrke-Smith

I’m Laura Kyrke-Smith and I’m proud to serve as your MP for Aylesbury and the villages.

I want to make Aylesbury and the nearby villages even more brilliant places to live and work in. I am accessible, I listen and I act in the best interests of our community.

In Parliament, I am committed to raising issues affecting Aylesbury constituency residents – from improving local infrastructure to improving GP appointment access, and getting better support for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

I currently serve as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. In this role, I am working to support the Secretary of State Steve Reed MP to deliver on plans to protect nature; clean up our coasts, rivers and lakes; support our British farmers; and strengthen animal welfare protections.

I am actively campaigning for improved perinatal mental health provision, an issue that is personal to me. In February 2025 I spoke in Parliament about one of my best friends Sophie, who in 2021 died due to suicide shortly after giving birth, to highlight the urgent need for better support for mothers. Since then, I have continued to press for specialist perinatal services to be expanded and for mental health checks to be built into routine maternity care.

I’d welcome you getting in touch. I would love to chat with you about how I can best serve you as the Member of Parliament for Aylesbury and the villages. To ensure we can help as many people as possible, we’ve set out how we work and how we ask to be treated in our Office Standards.
